VENTRA BUS PASSES

You can buy and reload VENTRA Bus Passes at Grayslake LancerZone (B131 - 1st floor) and at the Lakeshore (Waukegan) Campus Bookstore. CHOOSE FROM OPTIONS INCLUDING:

• Campus Connection Passes - Available to students for one semester, unlimited rides, any route and 7 days a week. Financial Aid may be used to purchase.

• 7-Day and 30 Day Passes

• Choose the $ amount you want to load ($1 - $300)

• Reload an existing VENTRA card

• RENT - Hundreds of titles are currently available for rental to save you money! Many CLC custom textbooks are available to rent.

You will also need a form of payment; Credit or Debit card, Cash, Gift Card, Apple Pay or Samsung Pay or have Financial Aid funds available in your student account.

We have many titles available digitally through our online partner Redshelf. If your book is available, it will say "Digital" in the description.

Each Campus has its own bookstore. Currently, during the COVID-19 pandemic, see our homepage for individual store hours and availability per each campus.

COVID-19 UPDATE – clc is open but limited to:  any registered students – virtual or in-person, employees, prospective students, and community members with specific college business.  face masks are required and social distancing measures are in place.

The bookstore is currently closed for in person textbook purchases.  all books must be ordered online through the bookstore website @WWW.CLCBKST.COM.  cHOOSE UPS SHIPPING OR PICK UP.

LAKESHORE (Waukegan) and SOUTHLAKE (Vernon Hills)

Both campuses sell books and other course materials for classes held at their locations, plus a selection of merchandise, candy, snacks and drinks.

Southlake - Also sells Massage Therapy course materials

Viewing/Printing your Bookstore Course Materials List is the easiest, most accurate way to see all REQUIRED, *CHOOSE ONE and OPTIONAL textbooks for your classes.

*CHOOSE ONE - You pick ONE of the two or more CHOOSE ONE items listed for your class - in the FORMAT you prefer. For example: You may have your choice between an actual Textbook OR the Online version. Content is the same for all formats.

• VIEW YOUR LIST. COURSE MATERIALS are shown for all classes on your schedule.

PRINT LIST, Landscape. (List is required for IN-STORE Ordering.)

From the Home Page - FIND YOUR BOOKS or Left Navigation Page - TEXTBOOKS > GET TEXTBOOKS

> Choose TERM / DEPARTMENT / COURSE NUMBER / SECTION NUMBER from the Drop Down Lists

> Click ADD COURSE TO LIST.  Repeat until all courses have been added

There are a number of factors that affect whether or not we will buy back your book and for how much. The main factor is whether we are using it in the upcoming semester or if our wholesaler is buying the book.

There is no difference in buyback price if the book was originally bought new or used.

Books with water damage or stains will not be bought back.

Yes! You can do so online by selecting "Sell Textbooks" under the Textbooks menu on the left side of the page.

You will need an account to log in and check buyback prices, otherwise you may create a new account using your personal or student email.

Please remember, prices offered are subject to change due to the condition of the book and other factors.

We do not accept phone or faxed orders.

Either we have not received the list of books required for your course or the teacher is not requiring any books for their section.

Please contact the publisher with issues concerning physical access codes (i.e. Cengage, Pearson, etc).

If you have issues with a purely digital online book order, contact solve.redshelf.com

Contact the One Stop at the Grayslake Campus to pay the balance and release the hold.

If you believe you have returned the rental, please visit the bookstore and we can work with you to resolve this issue.

Please refer to our  Return Policy as the dates for each semester vary.

For classes that start after the final return date listed, you will have 5 business days from the start of your class to return or exchange a book.

Purchasing a rented book, or vice versa, works just like an exchange. Please see the Return Policy for important dates for exchanges.

Custom textbooks are edited versions for specific College of Lake County courses. Essentially, material has been removed from the textbook that the instructor will not be covering in class.

A custom “bundle” usually consists of the custom textbook and an online access code. Bundles save students money versus the cost of buying the components separately.

Click "Textbooks" page and then Click "Get Textbooks" and choose the appropriate semester. Then select your course from the drop down menus. Select your books and add them to your cart.

We accept Financial Aid online.

Check regularly for COVID Updates. PLEASE NOTE: If Financial Aid is used to purchase books, paperwork will have to be filled out. Be prepared to show a student ID and photo ID.

During non-peak times your order will be ready sooner.

No! You do not pay a fee if you choose to pick up at another campus bookstore.

If you choose to have your order shipped to you, it could take 3-5 business days to be delivered depending on UPS. If you need it sooner please select 2nd Day or Next Day shipping at checkout.

If you have not received your order within 5 business days, log in to your account on the bookstore website to view the status of your order or contact the bookstore via email, phone, or by visiting our Contact Support  page.

Standard Shipping is $5.00

Two-Day Shipping is $15.00

Next Day Shipping is $20.00

Yes! We accept Financial Aid online.
While checking out, when selecting payment on the drop down menu, please choose “Financial Aid”.

We will not be able to process your order unless you have funds available in your student account. If your order declines due to a lack of funds, you will receive an email and can log in to edit your order and use another form of payment, or reply to cancel the order.

Used books are limited to first come, first serve. These usually go very quickly. If you do not wish to have your book substituted, please write “Used Only" or "Cancel if New" under the order comment when checking out.
